Staff Reviews

This book is one of affirmation, “Like the sun, I’m here to shine.  Like the voice, I’m here to sing.”  The last pages though say it all.  The final double-spread shows eight girls with hands linked.  The text reads “And in the end, we are right here to live a life of love, not fear…to help each other when it’s tough, to say together: I am enough.”  This is made even more powerful with Bobo’s illustrations of diverse girls even one girl in a wheelchair, one chubby girl, and one with glasses.
