Michael Bornstein, one of the youngest documented survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp liberated in 1945, and his daughter Debbie Bornstein-Holinstat have co-authored the memoir Survivor’s Club: The True Story of a Very Young Prisoner of Auschwitz. They will appear at Kids Ink Monday, May 1st, from 4-5pm, to discuss the book, answer questions, and autograph copies. The book will be available for purchase at Kids Ink beginning March 7th.
Family is the most important part of any young person’s life, whether by blood or choice or both. Michael and his family depended on each other for strength of body, mind and spirit during the Holocaust. Those memories determined the shape of Michael’s life, and also the life of the family he made for himself.
Mr. Bornstein and his daughter wrote Survivor’s Club for students 10 and up, but older readers can also take away something important from this harrowing story.
We hope you’ll help spread word of this important visit, and that we will see you at Kids Ink on May 1st at four o’clock.
